摘要: Abstract Capacitance-based self-sensing is shown for the first time on a pitch-based material, which serves as model asphalt. No functional component involved. Compressive stress (5–1720 Pa) sensed. The capacitance increases reversibly by ≤1.2% upon unloading. It linearly related to stress, with fractional change in per unit ≤9.3 × 10−5/Pa. identically and repeatedly observed 20 cycles at same amplitude. resistance decreases unloading, but it an inferior indicator than capacitance, due greater irreversibility tendency less regular dependence stress.
