摘要: The creation of an arteriovenous fistula offers a unique example vascular remodelling and adaption. Yet, the specific factors which elicit events determine successful maturation or failure have not been unambiguously determined. Computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations are increasingly employed to investigate interaction between local hemodynamics can potentially be used assist in clinical risk assessment failure. However, these inextricably linked their prescribed boundary conditions reliant on vivo measurements flow pressure ensure validity. study compares distribution across fistulae against representative numerical model. results indicate relative agreement (error ≈ 8–10%) CFD prediction mean drop AVFs. large AVFs coincided with palpable thrill (perivascular vibration) fluctuations were observed signal due instabilities arising at anastomosis. This provides benchmark within AVF validates that solutions capable replicating abnormal physiological induced by creation.
