摘要: At high pressure many alkali halides transform from the NaC1 (B1) structure to CsCl (B2) structure. We have recently studied this transformation in polycrystalline RbI, which transforms at a critical pressure, Pc = 3.5 kbar.1 By observing time development of neutron diffraction pattern after sudden increase hydrostatic P we directly deduced X(t), fraction sample converted metastable stable phase, as function time. showed that X(t) taken different could be approximately scaled onto universal growth curve by introducing an adjustable characteristic τ(P) for each curve, such (1) This is demonstrated Fig. 1.
