Studies of Inelastic Positron Scattering Using 2.3 and 3 M Spectrometers

摘要: We report total positronium formation cross sections for krypton with beam energies from the threshold region to 352.2 eV. The primary maximum at about 16 eV is followed by a small secondary in vicinity of 107 There is, also, an increase rate decline section energy between 325 and 352 present estimates elastic scattering argon neon obtained subtracting inelastic sections. In both cases exhibits dip just after recovery neighborhood ionization threshold. have tabulated proton electron capture ratios former latter molecular hydrogen, helium, krypton. all climb steeply as particle velocity increases,the sharp rise beginning appreciably lower velocities hydrogen than helium. discuss initial work 3 m spectrometer future measurements it 2.3 spectrometer.
