Composition of an Extracellular Polysaccharide Produced by Sphaerotilus natans

摘要: The capsular polysaccharide of Sphaerotilus natans has been isolated, purified, and analyzed. Chromatographic chemical analyses performed on acid hydrolyzates the purified material have shown that major components are fucose, galactose, glucose, glucuronic in approximately equimolar amounts. Glucose believed to occur as an aldobiuronic unit.
