摘要: In the late 1960’s, a strong interest was raised in biomedical applications of ceramic materials (named bioceramics little bit later). Bioceramics initially used as reasonable alternatives to metals order increase their biocompatibility. However, within short period, it has grown into diverse class biomaterials, presently including three essential types: relatively bioinert, bioactive (or surface reactive) and bioresorbable bioceramics. This review is limited prepared from calcium orthophosphates only, which belong categories compounds. There have been number important advances this field during past 30 – 40 years. The research shifted an initial study on develop-ment bioinert towards bioceramics, these different types orthophosphate can be tuned through structural compositional control. At turn millennium, new concept developed promote regeneration bones. Current include artificial replacements for hips, knees, teeth, tendons ligaments, well repair periodontal disease, maxillofacial reconstruction, augmenttation stabilization jawbone, spinal fusion bone fillers after tumor surgery. Potential future are demonstrated drug delivery systems, effective carriers growth factors, peptides and/or various cells tissue engineering purposes.
