摘要: The efficacy of a single dose cefotiam as prophylaxis for postoperative infection was analyzed in prospective randomized study 840 patients undergoing either carniotomy (group I, n = 711) or cerebrospinal fluid shunting II, 129). main interest centered on the rate bone flap and shunt sepsis requiring operative revision. Data were evaluated total groups various subgroups formed high risk patients. Our results show highly significant difference infection, with 0.3% group versus 5.1% control (p < 0.001). overall deep wound infections including meningitis abscess I) also significantly different (3.1% vs 9.0%, p 0.005). This true 10.6%) well pneumonia. II) 7.5% 12.9% group, differences not being statistically subgroups. In summary, antibiotic has proven to be effective prevention craniotomy. Although our do reach statistical significance, we recommend these cases, since there is clear between receiving antibiotic.
