Yedoma carbon stocks and other deep permafrost carbon

摘要: First permafrost carbon models suggest that deep pools need to be considered for simulating the full permafrost-carbon feedback. After Hugelius et al. (2014) we consider "deep" soil as those found below 3 meter from land surface. Though all can affected by degradation, thawing and erosion of thick deposits containing ice may cause particularly strong feedbacks ecosystems surface subsidence cycle releasing substantial amounts previously frozen millennia. In this synthesis study aim at discussing size, distribution, qualities vulnerabilities in peatlands, Yedoma, river deltas, thermokarst basins, other regions evaluate opportunities a comprehensive existing datasets.
