摘要: Based on previous research with bovine peadipocytes, we hypothesized that infusion of arginine into the abomasum Angus steers stimulates stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD) gene expression in subcutaneous (s.c.) adipose tissue, and this would be attenuated by conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). Growing were infused abomasally l-arginine 50 g/day; n = 13; provided as HCl) or l-alanine (isonitrogenous control, 100 g/day; n = 11) for 14 days. For subsequent 14 days, half each amino group CLA (100 g/day). Body weight gain average daily unaffected (P > 0.15) abomasum. The plasma concentrations cis-9, trans-11 trans-10, cis-12 increased (P = 0.001) (P = 0.01). Compared day 0, fatty synthase, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase enzyme activities s.c. tissue 14 either alanine (all P 0.40). By 28, C/EBPβ SCD was higher, CPT1β lower, than (±CLA) (P = 0.05). decreased oleic (18:1n-9) alanine- arginine-infused (P = 0.05), although had no effect expression. data indicate supplemental promotes adipogenic may promote lipid accumulation tissue. l-Arginine beneficially improve beef quality human consumption.
