摘要: Background This study undertook a computational analysis of wedged glenoid component for correction retroverted arthritic deformity to determine whether wedge-shaped design with built-in version reduces excessive stresses in the implant, cement, and bone. Recommendations correcting retroversion are asymmetric reaming anterior glenoid, bone grafting posterior or augmentation. Eccentric has disadvantages removing normal bone, reducing structural support component, increasing risk perforation by fixation pegs. Bone correct does not consistently generate successful results. Methods Finite element models 2 scapulae representing an were implanted standard (in neutral alignment) component. Glenohumeral forces in vivo loading applied strains computed Results The components generated highest compressive decreased cyclic fatigue life predictions trabecular Correction significantly predicted greater life. cement volume estimated survive 10 million cycles was lowest neutrally components. Conclusion A implant is viable option severe retroversion, need eccentric failure.
