摘要: The completion of the Arabidopsis Genome Initiative project in year 2000 and decoding whole genome sequence many plant species thereafter lead to generation mountains information. But function most these sequences remains elusive. This grand challenge defining all information genes has been scope functional genomics. Functional genomics deals with gene at transcription, translation regulation level. Numerous techniques including microarray, serial analysis expression (SAGE), knockout, RNA interference (RNAi), virus-induced silencing (VIGS), insertional mutagenesis, Targeting Induced Local Lesions Genomes (TILLING), EcoTILLING next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies have developed as component elucidate genes/sequences can assist understanding genetic mechanism growth, development physiological responses plant. Therefore, aid discovery alleles/QTLs, high-throughput markers, high-density linkage map ultimately assigning genes/QTLs related yield associated traits biotic abiotic stress tolerance develop high yielding genotypes mitigate challenges global food security.
