摘要: Local sociocultural processes including community perceptions and actions represent the most visible social impacts of various economic environmental changes. Comparative analysis has been used to examine diverse perspectives on a variety socioeconomic issues. However, as temporal dimension remains understudied, relatively little is known regarding how such variations change over time. This study draws longitudinal survey data from six communities Kenai Peninsula, Alaska explore shifts in differences activeness response forest disturbance associated with an extensive spruce bark beetle outbreak. The surveys were implemented two phases 4-year period. Results show that while condition waned coalesced some ways, significant remained or emerged respect other facets local reactions. These shifting variances dimensions related positions along outbreak timeline general biophysical situations (community context). also revealed contexts held even more important role predicting responses beetles re-survey. Taken together, findings this research contribute better understanding persistence variability well continuity contextual effects.
