摘要: This paper offers a critical evaluation of the narrative ‘property-owning democracy' (POD) in contemporary housing policy and political cultures UK USA. It describes contrasts two competing interpretations POD. The dominant interpretation permeates politics Britain is based on assumption that homeownership creates virtuous independent citizens, strongly associated with conservative ideal small state, firmly embedded both accepted terms debate.In contrast to this, there less dominant, egalitarian POD, which seeks promote view property citizenship more solidarity interdependence.
