The IGBP-DIS global 1-km land-cover data set DIS-Cover : A project overview

摘要: Since 1992 the International Geosphere Biosphere Programme's (IGBP) Data and Information System (DIS) has been working towards completion of a validated global landcover data set, DISCover. This 1-km resolution set consists 17 cover classes identified on basis science requirements IGBP's core projects. DISCover created from over 4.4 Terabytes Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer collected 23 receiving stations. These were processed assembled into coherent monthly Normalized Difference Vegetation Index composites (April to April 1993) classified using unsupervised techniques with post-classification refinement. The first hind-cover classification was completed in July 1997.
