摘要: Abstract Several methods based on the behaviour of biological systems have been proposed during last years to solve a wide range problems. Ant algorithms and Firefly are two this type. The Ant-Tree for Colour Quantisation algorithm was recently quantise colour images. It is clustering-based method which creates tree structure where pixels image grouped in subtrees according their similarity. A threshold value determines if similarity sufficient associate pixel subtree. computation that includes parameter ( 0 , 1 ] whose must be set taking into account number colours quantised image. Since influences quality final image, it recommended perform several tests with different values then select best result. In order reduce influence said improve resulting paper proposes combine algorithm. Computational experiments show new generates better images than some popular quantisation such as Median-cut, Octree, Neuquant, Wu’s or Variance-based method.
