摘要: Within the past decade, discipline of adolescent and young adult (AYA) oncology has taken root in United States. It arose from observation that survival improvements for 15–39-year-olds have lagged behind those both children older adults. Rapid progress this new area resulted energetic work by researchers, clinicians, non-profit organizations focusing on AYA-aged cancer patients survivors. The term “AYA” is now well recognized within pediatric medical oncology, AYA-specific aims are increasingly included clinical trials also basic translational research.
