摘要: Genome sequencing and annotation has advanced our understanding of genome organization gene structure but initially only allowed predictions how many genes might be present. Mechanisms such as alternative splicing reveal that these scratch the surface true nature transcriptome. Several thousand expressed partial fragments have been cloned were considered transcriptional noise or cloning artifacts. We now know genomes are indeed at much higher levels than was previously predicted, additional transcription maps to intergenic regions, intron sequences, untranslated regions mRNAs. These transcripts from either sense antisense strand can confirmed by conventional techniques. In addition already established roles for small RNAs in regulation, large noncoding (ncRNAs) also emerging potent regulators expression. this review, we summarize several illustrative examples regulatory mechanisms involve ncRNAs. describe distinct ncRNAs, interference promoter inactivation, well indirect effects on proteins genomic imprinting. diverse functions ncRNAs likely first novel growing field.
