摘要: Abstract Variation for a wide range of plant characters, more extensive than that normally found in oilseed rape, has been characterised within Brassica napus genetic background developed from three synthetic lines B. which had produced previously crosses between wild diploid oleracea and rapa species. These were crossed with rape cultivars doubled haploid populations . grown as spaced plants the field measurements made on plant, raceme pod architecture so any new variation could be assessed. Laboratory procedures have to measure level resistance shattering among these determine mechanical properties pods. Resistance determined laboratory was broadly linked assessment scores. Genetic exceeded selection modern populations. This is associated particular parents used make rape. There are no significant associations measured characters except beak length force needed shatter pods tests. suggests it should possible select independently other agronomic characters. appears failure dehiscence zone's cells degrade presence extra vascular tissue this zone.
