摘要: Introduction: The aim of this study was to describe an original technique using ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy in the long saphenous veins (LSV) for treatment varicose veins, and report early results. Methods: Only patients with lower limb demonstrable incompetent saphenofemoral junction reflux down LSVs underwent injection sclerosant into LSV. Foam made by Tessari's method three percent sodium tetradecyl sulphate air a 1:3 ratio. LSV accessed below knee micropuncture set. A Headhunter angiographic catheter cut length advanced over guide wire (SFJ). With patient Trendelenburg position leg raised, SFJ manually compressed injected while tip withdrawn. Direct ultrasound visualisation ensured accurate placement. Results: 66 limbs 62 were treated manner described above. diameter ranged from 4 13.4 mm. Ultrasound duplex assessment one day posttreatment showed complete occlusion (94 percent). Early complications included superficial thrombophlebitis, skin pigmentation, cellulitis thrombosis femoral vein. Conclusion: Immediate results our high obliteration rate
