摘要: The neocortex is a major component of the most sophisticated and economically significant computer in existence, nevertheless organisation operation its computational circuit not yet understood. Here we make some steps toward relating anatomical structure to function. We use methods quantitative neuroanatomy estimate cortical by defining projection matrix between various cells types cat, then consider implications this connectivity for signal processing. Our analyses show that reasonable choice ratio excitatory inhibitory efficacy, overall lies near border dynamical stability. discuss model co-operative competitive processing consistent with observed superficial layers cortex, also how topology could be configured dynamically through average inhibition.
