Polyoxometalates on Cationic Silica Nanoparticles. Physicochemical Properties of an Electrostatically Bound Multi-Iron Catalyst

摘要: Reaction of a solution the multi-iron polyoxometalate (POM) K9[(FeIII(OH2)2)3(A-α-PW9O34)2] (K91) with colloidal suspension cationic silica nanoparticles ((Si/AlO2)Cl) results in production new heterogeneous oxidation catalyst (K81/(Si/AlO2)). Dynamic light scattering data, coupled elemental analysis and streaming potential measurements suggests that there are 58 molecules POM electrostatically bound to surface each particle on average. Transmission electron microscopy confirms presence shows diameter (Si/AlO2)Cl K81/(Si/AlO2) be ∼12 ∼17 nm, respectively. Significantly, cryo-high-resolution scanning (cryo-HRSEM) retards natural gelation process is known undergo upon aging.
