New Measurements of DNA Twist Elasticity

摘要: The symmetries of the DNA double helix require a new term in its linear response to stress: coupling between twist and stretch. Recent experiments with torsionally constrained single molecules give first direct measurement this material parameter. We extract value from recent experiment. Finally, we sketch effect on entropic elasticity arising connection Link, Twist, Writhe.
