摘要: Background Contact of blood with the artificial surfaces cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) system is considered to be a main cause complement activation. Improving biocompatibility by reduction contact activation elements and thereby producing less inflammatory response evidently desired, especially for neonates infants who are more susceptible deleterious effects CPB. A phosphorylcholine coating, Phisio, designed mimic natural interfaces blood. The aim this study compare influence phosphorylcholine-coated CPB versus an uncoated on clinical outcomes. Methods In prospective, randomized, blind, one-center study, 28 bodyweight between 3 6 kg were undergoing divided in two groups, group control group. Thirteen patients assigned 15 Patients Down syndrome, prematurity, cyanosis, or reoperation excluded. Complement factor C3b/c, human neutrophil elastase (HNE), interleukin-6, C-reactive protein measured before, during, after Duration intensive care stay, ventilation time, highest body temperature, inotropic medication variables. Results No significant differences found groups HNE, during observed groups. Conclusions Phosphorylcholine coating does not attenuate infants.
