摘要: The stereochemistry of beta-oxidation alpha-methyl-branched fatty acids was analyzed, in rat liver and human cells, with (2R)- (2S)-2-methyltetradecanoic acid as model substrates. In liver, formation the alpha,beta-unsaturated compound found to be concentrated mitochondria while this activity co-distributed mainly peroxisomal marker enzymes. both cases, dehydrogenating enzymes were absolutely specific for (2S)-enantiomer. activation some three times faster than (2S)-isomer activated at about same rate.
