摘要: Silk fibroin membranes recently have been suggested as matrices for biomedical applications, such guided tissue regeneration and burn wound dressings. The aim of this study was to evaluate the inflammatory potential films compare with two model materials completely different physico-chemical properties: poly(styrene) poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate). Fibroin bound lower levels fibrinogen than did synthetic polymers while same amounts adsorbed human plasma complement fragment C3 IgG were detected. Studies binding strength fibroin, evaluated by a novel experimental procedure, indicated occurrence strong hydrophobic interactions at interface. activation mononuclear cells measured interleukin 1beta production, reference materials. Adhesion experiments showed ability macrophages adhere filopodia without complete spreading cells. results achieved in demonstrate that humoral components system comparable those surfaces degree adhesion immunocompetent appeared more limited.
