摘要: This paper analyses energy efficiency in the Mexican cement industry by studying disaggregated data at plant and production unit level. A shortrun function is examined to look substitution possibilities between labour with given equipment, but these are found be limited (as expected). Instead, reduction of use per output mainly due capital embodied technical progress: most important improvements related investments new pieces specific equipment. Average intensity branch as a whole is, therefore, explained capacity expansion. Finally, importance factor prices relevance our results other industries discussed.
