摘要: Abstract Examination of large series skeletal material shows that pelves, on the basis morphology, tend to segregate themselves into groups bearing certain common architectural characteristics. Four major have been recognized. On analysis these differ sufficiently anatomically warrant a new classification pelves. The first group consists an average form which in respect compact pelvis displays accepted sexual characters attributed female sex. This has designated "gynecoid" type pelvis. second appears contain features male These pelves are termed "android" types. third many respects bears resemblance pelvic great apes. term "anthropoid" proposed for this special type. last is characterized by broad flat similar simple other classifications. It rare and no apes or lower forms. "platypelloid" originally Turner, 18 seems descriptive satisfactory purposes. variations not associated with caused pathologic processes. more extreme forms long recognized anatomists, anthropologists, obstetricians. We attempted correlate observations order facilitate application anatomical knowledge mechanism labor. role played types relation ease difficulty labor briefly discussed.
