摘要: Hominid fossils have been recovered from four localities within the Late Miocene Lukeino Formation, Tugen Hills, Kenya. The sediments which came consist of fluvial and shallow lacustrine deposits. Some specimens are coated in a thin layer carbonate organic origin, suggesting deposition preservation slightly alkaline water, while others riddled with superficial cracks indicating exposure at surface prior to burial. Radioisotopic age determinations lavas underlying overlying crystals themselves, indicate an ca 6 Ma for these hominids.
