摘要: 1. The effects of hypothyroidism (caused by surgical thyroidectomy followed treatment for 1 month with propylthiouracil) and hyperthyroidism [induced subcutaneous administration L-tri-iodothyronine (T3)] on glucose tolerance skeletal-muscle sensitivity to insulin were examined in rats. Glucose was estimated during 2 h after injection (1 g/kg body wt.). the soleus muscle studied vitro sedentary acutely exercised animals. 2. impaired both hypothyroid hyperthyroid rats comparison euthyroid controls. 3. In muscle, responsiveness rate lactate formation abolished rats, whereas glycogen synthesis unchanged. animals, opposite changes found, i.e. inhibited production did not differ from that control 4. A single bout exercise 30 min potentiated stimulatory effect 5. data suggest thyroid hormones exert an interactive skeletal muscle. This is likely be at post-receptor level, inhibiting stimulating oxidative utilization.
