摘要: Reclamation and reuse of wastewater are increasingly viewed as a pragmatic tool for water conservation. Greywater, which includes from baths, washing machines, dishwashers, kitchen sinks, is dilute stream, making it an attractive stream extraction non-potable water. However, most previous studies primarily focused on passively aerated biological physicochemical treatment processes greywater treatment. Here, we investigated integrated process microbial electrochemical cell (MEC) followed by granular activated carbon (GAC) biofilter The system could achieve 99.3% removal total chemical oxygen demand (TCOD) 98.7% the anionic surfactants (linear alkylbenzene sulphonates) synthetic at hydraulic residence time (HRT) 25 h (1 day MEC 1 GAC biofilter). For one-day HRT, maximum peak volumetric current density was 0.65 A/m3, comparable to that achieved four-day HRT (0.66 A/m3). adsorption identified key mechanism organics surfactants. In addition, recirculation liquid within critical factor in achieving high-rate Although results indicated be standalone greywater, can provide opportunity potential energy recovery greywater. further should focus developing MECs with higher practical operation.
