Methacrylate copolymers and their composites with nano-CdS: synthesis, characterization, thermal behavior, and antimicrobial properties

摘要: Homo- and copolymers of 2-(N-phthalimido)ethyl methacrylate (NPEMA) p-chlorophenyl (PCPMA) were prepared in N,N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) solution at 70 °C using 2,2-azo-bisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator. The nano-CdS-doped polymer composite NPEMA PCPMA was via situ technique. homo- characterized FT-IR spectroscopy gel permeation chromatography (GPC). nano composites spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy. reactivity ratios (r1 r2) obtained from the various linear graphical methods. values r1 (NPEMA) = 0.55 r2 (PCPMA) = 1.30 found same copolymer microstructures mean sequence length, run number, dyad fraction. Thermal behavior polymers under nitrogen atmosphere studied. activation energies neat varied range 56–85 kJ/mol, while 28–56 kJ/mol for composites. thermodynamic parameters thermal degradation also obtained. Kinetic confirming stability than assessed on different microorganisms obtaining antimicrobial properties. Overall, permit 10–52, 20–58, 18–56% growth bacteria, fungi, yeast, respectively.
