摘要: Skeletal muscle is a classical example of “structure determining function.” Successful strategies for clinical applications tissue-engineered skeletal must recapitulate the processes that undergoes during either embryonic development or adult regeneration. As discussed in this chapter, current approaches to tissue engineering broadly utilize different aspects these processes, e.g. generation multinucleate, elongated myotubes (nascent myofibres) surrounded by connective sheath. The former are generated encouraging precursor cell fusion, which alignment vital, so surface topography, fibre scaffolds and mechanical loading key processes. Connective sheaths can be encasing constructs materials such as collagen fibrin. Finally, functional connections need made system via tendons, neural neuromuscular junctions vascular system. chapter follows reviews situation regards developments.
