The effect of vacancies on the optical properties of AuAl

摘要: AuAl2 is an intermetallic compound with a vivid purple colour attributable to bulk plasmon energy in the visible part of spectrum. However, as-deposited thin films not as strong and only develops upon annealing. Density functional theory calculations dielectric function are presented for variety vacancy types concentrations. The results support view that effect annealing on correlated reduction concentration Al vacancies. vacancies optical properties can be understood arising from complex interplay between interband transitions around Fermi level energy.
