摘要: We use deep images acquired with the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) on board Hubble Space Telescope in filters F555W and F814W to characterize properties of NGC 376, a young star cluster located wing Small Magellanic Cloud. Using isochrone fitting we derive 376 an age 28 {+-} 7 Myr, good agreement previous studies. The high spatial resolution ACS data allow us determine center gravity construct extended surface brightness radial density profiles. Neither these profiles can be fitted theoretical model, suggesting that is not virial equilibrium. Considering cluster, speculate distortion may result rapid gas dispersal follows initial phase formation (SF). shows clear evidence dynamical mass segregation. From present-day function conclude appears have already lost nearly 90% its stellar mass, probably as consequence sudden early SF.
