摘要: AIM: To examine the association between statin use and development of esophageal cancer METHODS: We performed a systematic review meta-analysis. Multiple databases (Pubmed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web Science, Wiley Interscience Google Scholar) were systematically searched for studies reporting cancer. Literature searching data abstraction independently by two separate researchers. The quality reviewed was evaluated using Newcastle-Ottawa Quality assessment scale. Meta-analysis on relationship cancer incidence performed. effect combination plus cyclo-oxygenase inhibitor also examined. RESULTS: Eleven met eligibility criteria, 9 high 2 medium quality. All observational studies. Studies examining adenocarcinoma in Barrett’s esophagus included 317 cancers 1999 controls, population-based all 371203 6083150 controls. In population statins (OR = 0.57; 95%CI: 0.43-0.75) inhibitors 0.59; 0.45-0.77) associated with reduced adenocarcinoma. Combined an even lower 0.26; 0.1-0.68). There more heterogeneity but pooled adjusted showed that combined 0.81; 0.75-0.88). CONCLUSION: Statin patients oesophagus is significantly chemopreventive actions statins, especially deserve further exploration.
