摘要: Abstract Energy and exergy-based performances of a natural-convective solar dryer (NCSDR) integrated with sodium sulfate decahydrate (Na2SO4·10H2O) chloride (NaCl) as thermal storage medium are presented. The NCSDR was operational in Nigerian climate applied for red chilli. objectives this study were to evaluate the potential Na2SO4·10H2O NaCl focus on energy consumption exergy-sustainability indicators. compared control-experiment conditions. results showed that Na2SO4·10H2O, NaCl, reduced moisture content chilli from 72.27% 7.6, 10.1 10.3% respectively. While, overall drying efficiency three scenarios varied 10.61 18.79% 7.54–12.98 MJ exergy system during sunshine-hours ranged 66.79 96.09%. using thru off-sunshine hours exergy-efficiency entire process 81.19 66.82% Furthermore, sustainability indicators, waste-exergy ratio, index improvement 0.166 0.174, 3.01 8.15 1.285–1.295 W Approximately 602 tonnes/year CO2 could be limited entering air diesel powered dryer.
