摘要: Carbon isotope data have been obtained for diamonds in diamondites (framesites, polycrystalline diamond) of unknown origin (presumably from southern Africa), which contain minor amounts garnet (plus rare clinopyroxene). The carbon abundance ratios show wide inter- and intra-sample ranges. 13 C variations with "peridotitic" or "eclogitic" garnets are indistinguishable each other, a range 3.2 to 27.9‰, peak around 18‰, indicating depletion relative most silicate-bearing single crystal diamonds. This could produced by mass fractionation an isotopically homogeneous mantle source C-O-H fluid system. Fluids traveling between regions varying redox conditions the provided necessary vehicle. can be explained different degrees oxidation during fluid/melt ascent. Copyright © 2004 Elsevier Ltd
