摘要: Quiescent and explosive magma degassing at Stromboli volcano sustains high-temperature crater gas venting a permanent volcanic plume which constitute key sources of information on the supply dynamics, physical processes controlling activity and, more broadly, feeding system. The chemical composition mass output these emissions (gases, trace metals, radioactive isotopes) were measured using different methodologies: within-plume airborne measurements, ground-based filtering, and/or in situ analysis, remote UV open-path Fourier transform infrared absorption spectroscopy. results obtained, summarized this paper, demonstrate primary control magmatic phase eruptive regime budget volcano. large excess discharge, compared with lava extrusion rate, source depth slug-driven Strombolian explosions evidence extensive separate transfer across conduits, promoted by high content (vesicularity) then permeability shallow basaltic magma. Combined data for volatiles dissolved olivine-hosted melt inclusions, provide updated constraints rate (similar to 0.3 m(3) s(-1) average), ratio intrusive versus extrusive 15), amount unerupted degassed that should be convectively cycled back conduits accumulated beneath over time 0.25 km(3) last three decades). also insight into possible triggering mechanism intermittent paroxysmal geochemical signals might allow forecasting events future.
