摘要: This study focuses on the mechanics of ciliary movement ctenophores in relation to locomotion and feeding, with field laboratory observations documented 35 mm photographs video sequences. Movement through water is strongly modified by subtleties body morphology. Whereas entire ctenophore moves a flow regime where Reynolds numbers range from 100 6000, cilia surface move only 10 300. The patterns seen use fluorescein dye do not match any current model assumptions for new are postulated. Ctenophores exhibit wide variety morphological adaptations that reduce drag, behaviours exploit fine-scale movements prey capture.
