摘要: In four experiments, we evaluated Lea’s (1984) reassignment procedure for studying object representation in pigeons (Experiments 1–3) and humans (Experiment 4). the initial phase of Experiment 1, were taught to make discriminative button responses five views each objects. Using same set buttons second phase, one view was trained a different button. final that had been withheld stage shown. 2, initially just like birds 1. Then, reassigned button, now using new response buttons. 3, paradigm again tested number pecks bind together object. Across all three showed statistically significant generalization non-reassigned views, but such responding well below view. 4, human participants studied stimuli task as People did strongly generalize views. These results indicate humans, not pigeons, can employ unified they flexibly map under procedure.
