Anion exchange hybrid membranes from PVA and multi-alkoxy silicon copolymer tailored for diffusion dialysis process

摘要: Abstract Anion exchange hybrid membranes have been prepared from quaternization and sol–gel reaction of multi-alkoxy silicon copolymer (poly(vinylbenzyl chloride-γ-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxy silane) (poly(VBC-co-γ-MPS)) in presence poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA). The are high thermal stability, mechanical strength, swelling resistance. Thermal degradation temperatures ( T d , defined as the temperature at 5% weight loss) range 263–283 °C. Tensile strength (TS) ranges 24.5 MPa to 59.2 MPa elongation break E b ) is 25.4–101.2%. can remain integrity 65 °C hot water for more than 25 days behavior better suppressed poly(VBC-co-γ-MPS) content increases. tested diffusion dialysis (DD) recovery hydrochloric acid (HCl) mixture HCl ferrous chloride (FeCl 2 ). DD process ranged 20 °C 60 °C, revealing that separation factor S values 12.1–35.7, comparable commercial DF-120 membranes. When increases 30 °C, performances increased. Further increase coefficients, but decreases value. membrane structure properties correlated with performances.
