摘要: This study is focused on the modification of magnetic carbonyl iron (CI) particles with a thin polymer shell utilizing atom-transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) technique, enabling control molecular weight and polydispersity final grafted chains surface CI therefore also allowing tuning magnetorheological (MR) performance as well stability properties (chemical, sedimentation). Hence, bare were coated poly(butyl acrylate) (PBA) by ATRP technique. The procedure grafting was characterized gel permeation chromatography nuclear resonance. presence PBA chain confirmed Fourier infrared spectroscopy energy dispersive spectroscopy. A saturation magnetization analysis using vibrating sample magnetometer proved that negligibly affects their properties, data fit into Jiles–Atherton model allowed finite for both CI-PBA to be obtained. Furthermore, it coating provides sufficiently enhanced chemical sedimentation such system, while MR investigated rotational rheometer affected negligibly. Finally can stated controllable performed via technique useful tool significantly improve maintains values suitable real-life applications.
