摘要: Pollution and development seem to have been inextricably linked throughout human history. Yet the relationship between environmental harm is complex its understanding has fragmented by disciplinary biases. Economists scientists diverged on urgency of abatement mechanisms marginal returns investment control technologies social adaptations. The Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis dominated this discourse, but only one part a broader pollution-development nexus. As we consider societal shift towards circular economy, there need more integrated framework for analyzing empirical evidence that connects pollution development. This paper develops such with five key areas research inquiry can be connected each other through theoretical nodes. existing in literature presented which potential giving policy-makers developing countries greater clarity their decision-making around harms.
