摘要: The aim of this work is to develop and test a method for assessing the size morphology biomass fuels their chars. Severe thermal conditions (high temperature heating rate) are programmed during pyrolysis, focusing on characteristics chars in combustion or gasification. An image analysis program used quantitatively study several scanning electron microscopy images fuel char samples. Distributions results obtained significant number particles from statistical point view. Average values standard deviations distributions quantify heterogeneous nature particles, providing useful parameters advanced modeling. Size, shape factors (aspect roundness) superficial defined measured (or calculated) developing procedure low time-consuming analysis. structural variations caused by fast release high amount volatile products evaluated comparing particles. discussed suitability selected possibility softening, melting, shrinking fragmentation phenomena. applied two different origin chemical composition: wood pellets olive residue.
