摘要: Background According to the current literature, biliary lithiasis is a worldwide-diffused condition that affects almost 20% of general population. The rate common bile duct stones (CBDS) in patients with symptomatic cholelithiasis estimated be 10% 33%, depending on patient's age. Compared gallbladder, natural history secondary CBDS still not completely understood. It clear whether an asymptomatic choledocholithiasis requires treatment or not. For many years, open cholecystectomy choledochotomy and/or surgical sphincterotomy and cleaning were gold standard treat both pathologies. Development endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) laparoscopic surgery, together improvements diagnostic procedures, influenced new approaches management association gallstones. Data sources We decided systematically review literature order identify all therapeutic options for CBDS. A systematic search was performed independently by two authors using PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus Cochrane Library Central. Results approach nowadays varies greatly according availability experience expertise each center, includes exploration, various combinations ERCP combined laparoendoscopic rendezvous. Conclusions Although followed currently preferred majority hospitals worldwide, optimal concomitant gallstones under debate, among different centers.
