摘要: This paper aimed to determine the criteria participants use make decisions about scarce medical resources (allocation a kidney machine). It varied information patients on 4 factors (sex, smoking, employment status, community service). also set out see if made in groups differed from aggregated of those alone. In first study, completed simple questionnaire requiring them rank-order sixteen hypothetical patients. second group discussion (in three participants) preceded putting an agreed rating identical questionnaire. Participants favoured who were employed, non-smokers and participated service. suggests that adopted utilitarian moral ideology. Participants' smoking habits interacted with patients' habits, indicating in-group favouritism. study it was found when decision amplifies by individual. this sense there clear evidence polarization.
