摘要: Summary Lake–ground water interactions in the vicinity of a dredge lake (Lake Leis; SW Germany) were studied by means stable isotopes ( 18 O,  2 H) mainly to determine capture zone pumping well for drinking supply nearby town Baden-Baden. The is situated Quaternary gravel aquifer Rhine Valley. Numerical simulation performed using two-dimensional flow model was not able characterise uniquely. Several best fit options possible applying values hydraulic conductivities obtained from tests. As result it define whether Lake Leis either completely inside or fully outside zone. To overcome this problem and shape catchment area precisely, tracer transport established both heads isotope data. data applied proportion down-gradient observation wells. Additionally, compositions those wells, measured as function time, used mean velocity v  = 0.6 m/d) along some selected 200 m long flow-paths. Based on known porosity gradient values, conductivity about k  = 6 × 10 −4  m/s determined central lake. This groundwater calibrate numerical regional scale model. study demonstrates that uniquely, only when signals time series are taken into consideration. calibrated finally enables production be precisely defined.
