摘要: Raman scattering was used to probe the phase transitions of nematic liquid-crystalline material, $p$-azoxydianisole. The intensities several modes were shown change abruptly at transitions, but no detectable frequency shift any mode observed. Our results suggest that spectrum $p$-axoxydianisole is only affected by short-range ordering. Qualitative interpretation given.
