Cytotoxic and genotoxic evaluation of copper oxychloride through Allium test and molecular docking studies.

摘要: Copper oxychloride gained great importance due to its broad-spectrum antifungal action combat various fungal diseases of plants. However, excess quantity cupric fungicides on plants causes enzymatic changes and toxic effects. Thus, the current study was aimed investigate cytotoxicity genotoxicity copper Allium cepa root cells. The growth, mitotic index (MI), chromosomal aberrations (CAs), DNA damage were assessed through growth inhibition, A. ana-telophase, alkaline comet assays. Furthermore, molecular docking performed evaluate binding affinities two polymorphs (atacamite paratacamite) DNA. In inhibition test, onion length statistically significantly decreased by changing concentration from lower (2.64±0.11 cm) higher (0.92±0.12 cm). Concentration- time-dependent decrease in MI observed whereas increase CAs such as disturbed chromosome laggards, stickiness, anaphase bridges, caused Molecular results revealed that main bind selectively G C nucleotides B-DNA structure. It is concluded atacamite- paratacamite-induced may be minor groove recognition intercalation. Findings cytotoxic genotoxic effects further studies should carried out at level reveal cyto-genotoxic mechanism detail.
