摘要: This paper describes how soil contamination has been a major problem all over the world posing great risks to human health and environment. Currently there are many remedial alternatives that can be applied, yet available funds not enough entirely face problem. The optimal use of resources by maximizing their environmental benefits is interest. With this aim in mind, method based on mining theory proposed paper. core idea treated as “negative” ore. meaning attributed fact contamination, contrary ore, an unwanted asset. In case, what actually waste considered valuable. However, rationale same since both cases profit proportional grade extracted ore or concentration removed contaminant. approach enables pit optimization tools such Floating Cone suitably developed implemented remediation. main overcome seems absence economic value removal contamination. also introduces define shadow price order compare contaminated corresponding total cost action. applied site Lavrion, Greece case study.
